Overview
Our team pioneered the integration of VR simulators during the Pilot Training Next (PTN) initiative, transforming an exploratory tool into a powerful training asset. Through extensive experimentation, we identified where VR simulators accelerate learning and where they can hinder it, ensuring that their use aligns with the needs of both the syllabus and the student.
We specialize in leveraging VR for three key applications: part-task training, mission rehearsal, and scenario development. Each of these approaches has a specific place in the syllabus, and our expertise lies in determining the right application at the right time to maximize training outcomes.
A critical component of successful VR integration is aligning its use with clear, objective-driven goals. For example, during the early stages of training, objectives may focus on fundamental skills like safe ground operations and checklist adherence. Our Student Performance Web Application is a key enabler in this process, providing instructors with clear, real-time insights into a student's strengths, weaknesses, and progress. By pairing VR integration with our web application, instructors can not only define success for each training event but also identify the root causes of performance issues. This ensures that VR is used strategically—targeting areas where it has the most impact on student progress.
